Mrs Fillyjonk loves things to be clean and orderly. She cleans her house neurotically and is at her best when organizing a major cleanup. Mrs Fillyjonk finds the nooks where dust likes to hide and lets soap do the rest. A psychiatrist arriving in Moominvalley manages to cure Mrs Fillyjonk’s cleaning complex. When Fillyjonk’s house begins to fall into disrepair, Moominmamma decides to cure Mrs Fillyjonk with her own ingenious methods. She writes a telegram, delivered to Mrs Fillyjonk by her excited children. The telegram explains that a committee of women will visit Fillyjonk’s house. This way, Moominmamma succeeds in restoring Mrs Fillyjonk’s love of cleaning.

Fillyjonk Moomin Mug from Arabia is designed by Tove Slotte, the motif is based on Tove Jansson's book Moomin Valley in November from 1970 and the cartoon series Fuddler's Courtship which she published together with Lars Jansson in 1959. Fillyjonk is a mother of three. Order, cleanliness and predictability are very important to Fillyjonk, allowing her to feel in control of her life. If Moominmamma is someone who does not sweat the small stuff, then Fillyjonk is the exact opposite! Fillyjonk suffers from anxiety and uses cleaning in an attempt to get her life in order. She is strict with her children and does not want them to form any bad habits. If truth is to be told, Fillyjonk is jealous of Moominmamma and her bohemian lifestyle, but she has a hard time breaking her neurotic patterns.

The Moomin mug depicts Fillyjonk upon her discovery that dust mites' are hiding everywhere and she lets the soap suds flow. The story begins with a psychiatrist who has come to cure Fillyjonk of this cleaning complex, however Moominmamma, who is always a mainstay in the Moomin Valley, decides to solve the whole thing herself when Fillyjonk's house begins to decay. She writes a telegram that Fillyjonk's children hand to their mother. The telegram reads that Fillyjonk will be visited by a woman's committee and so it is in this way that Moominmamma manages to cure Fillyjonk's cleaning obsession.

Tove Slotte

Arabia’s Moomins are turned from stories to ceramic illustrations by designer Tove Slotte. She has been drawing Moomins onto Arabia items since the beginning of the 1990s. The designer draws inspiration from Tove Jansson’s original illustrations, which she adapts to ceramic shapes. The Moomins have always been close to Tove Slotte’s heart. She articulated the significance of the Moomins nicely when she said: I think everyone should enjoy a little dose of Moomin philosophy every day.
