Birdie is back. This beautiful bird was the very first figurine of the great Hoptimist family. Birdie is now back and spreads optimism and good humor when you suspend it and the spring starts moving. Let Birdie fly overhead, hanging from the window, over the couch or wherever she can remind you to be happy and take things on the bright side. It all started with a bird, before a girl, a boy and a frog were born. Birdie is the first figurine designed by Danish designer Gustav Ehrenreich in 1968. Then he imagined the girl Bimble, the boy Bumble and the frog Kvak, and since then, a large number of other characters have emerged. Firmly convinced by the power of the smile, Gustav Ehrenreich created the joyful Hoptimist movement in the late 60s. The goal was to design a figurine that would constantly remind us of the importance of staying positive and optimistic. Because, although the 60s are often called "the happy 60s", this decade was marked by disturbing events. Therefore, the joy that Ehrenreich's design spread was welcome in a rather turbulent period.
