Centrepiece. Turned carbon steel sheet with beeswax coating. Limited series of 999 numbered pieces.
Coppa Camuna is a tribute to the centuries-old steel-working industry of northern Italy. Designer Giulio Iacchetti emphasizes that the current design of bowls is the result of thousands of years of minor modifications by countless anonymous artisans. The product is turned, forged, brushed with beeswax, cooled. The resemblance to a helmet is not entirely coincidental. Giulio Iachetti exchanged an old soldier's helmet, which served as a plant pot in a school, for a terracotta one and let the history of the old helmet sink in. The crude steel bowl deviates from the utilitarian purpose of wartime helmets and instead proposes a new function: to contain the essentials of life, not the heads of soldiers. Coppa Camuna is therefore not only an artisanal piece, but also a symbol of peace.
